I am Mayank Sharma. Writer.

Mayank

Most of my writing involves introducing Free and Open Source software, to everyone from a netbook owner to people incharge of making smart decisions at organizations. Not only is the software cool, but I get to work with some of the best people in the field, who manage awesomely wonderful publications.

Online, my articles for Linux.com (where I was a Contributing Editor), IBM developerWorks, Packt Publishing, have regularly featured on popular Linux news websites such as LinuxToday, LXer, etc, as well as popular technology blogs such as Slashdot, and Digg. Since Jan 09, I've been writing features, reviews, and columns, for three print magazines -- Linux Format, PC Plus, and Linux Pro Magazine.

I discovered classrooms can be fun from the other side of the desk, when I was invited as an Industry Expert to lecture on Open Source topics at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

I'm always game for an exciting writing gig. If you have one, reach me at geekybodhi -at- gmail -dot- com.

Update: Circa, 2010: Thanks to a neurological condition I got an opportunity to practice what I preach. Here's a small video on how I used Facebook as a DIY recovery tool.

PS: In case you're wondering, I'm hale and hearty, and fully operational and back to doing the things listed above.
